PRECISION IN EVERY DROP

Coffee liqueur begins long before the spirit is added. At NORSE CODE, every stage is considered — from the coffee we select and the way we brew it to how we balance the finished liqueur. Real brewed coffee. Controlled extraction. Built by coffee people.

IT STARTS WITH THE COFFEE

We begin with speciality coffee, selected for the flavour, complexity and character it brings to the finished liqueur. Our Yorkshire roasting partners prepare the coffee to our requirements, giving us the foundation for everything that follows.

THE EXTRACTION IS DIALLED IN

Our bespoke precision filter brewing process gives us control over temperature, water flow and extraction. Developed around the coffee expertise of co-founder Gordon Howell, the brewing programme is designed to reveal the coffee's intended character with consistency and precision.

03 / Refinement

BREWED. FILTERED. REFINED.

The coffee is brewed and filtered before it becomes part of the liqueur. This allows us to work with the extraction we've deliberately created, preserving the flavour and balance we want to carry through into the finished spirit.

WHERE COFFEE BECOMES LIQUEUR

Our brewed coffee is carefully combined with spirit, sugars and water. Every component influences sweetness, texture, strength and flavour. The balance is different for Hel Above and Hel Below, giving each its own distinctive character while keeping real coffee at the centre.

DESIGNED FOR THE GLASS

The final test is how the liqueur tastes and performs. Hel Above delivers a brighter, structured coffee profile ideal for Espresso Martinis. Hel Below brings richer sweetness and body, making it particularly suited to Baby Guinness while also producing a fuller-style Espresso Martini.
