HOW IT BEGAN
Two different backgrounds. One shared ambition.
Combining experience in hospitality and drinks with championship-level coffee expertise, we founded Coffee Spirit Co to create something different — a liqueur built around the flavour of real brewed coffee.
THE PEOPLE

With a career spanning breweries, pub management, drinks importing, wholesale and distribution, Yan brings experience from across the drinks industry. From production and sourcing to getting products into bars and understanding how they're served, his knowledge of the trade helps shape Norse Code as a coffee liqueur built for both flavour and the demands of hospitality.
Co-Founder | Coffee & Brewing
UK Brewers Cup Champion and a top-ten finisher at the World Brewers Cup, Gordon brings internationally recognised coffee expertise to Norse Code. An experienced coffee trainer and competition judge, he also worked as a brewing advisor to TONE, contributing to testing and the development of brewing controls. His knowledge shapes the bespoke extraction process behind every bottle.
OUR APPROACH
Gordon's understanding of coffee extraction and our experience in the drinks industry shaped a different approach to making coffee liqueur.
Rather than treating coffee as just another flavouring, we built Norse Code around real brewed coffee, using a bespoke precision filter brewing process to bring out its character.
The result is coffee liqueur made with the same attention to flavour as the coffee itself.

OUR YORKSHIRE ROOTS
Norse Code takes its name from York's Viking heritage — a history woven into the city we call home.
Based in the heart of York, close to the site of its Viking royal palace, our surroundings are part of the story behind the name.
